Cassowary Art

As a kid, I was obsessed with  MAD magazine. Tracing Jack Davis' illustrations is how I learned to draw. I drew them all over the walls of my bedroom. When I was hired to create a cartoon for UGA's local newspaper, The Red & Black, I was thrilled. 

 

As an adult, I am amazed at how absolutely people (even my own extended family) have reacted after reading one of my cartoons. One of my favorite things to do is piss people off with my cartoons. 

 

I've been commissioned to create cartoons for public relations firms, magazines, podcasters, Saturday Down South, my friends, and I've done some pro-bono work in bathrooms all over the world.

 

During the early days of Twitter, I created a persona called The Governor of Dixie and distributed my original art via @governorofdixie for years.

 

Using characters like "DAWGZILLA" along with SEC Mascots and fans to comment on society and our southern culture. If it was worthy to me, I created a #SECartoon to spark the discussion.
